Parents... do you need help communicating with teens about Drugs & Alcohol?
Check out these suggestions:

Prevention Starts With Parents  Click Here for full story
As a parent, you have a major impact on your child’s decision not to use tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
     •
Prevention starts when you start talking with, and listening to, your child.
     • Help your child make good choices and good friends.
     • Teach your child different ways to say “No!”

Parents Are Powerful
Parents are the strongest influence that children have. There is no guarantee that your child won’t use drugs, but drug use is much less likely to happen if you:
     •
Provide guidance and clear rules about not using drugs.
     •
Spend time with your child.
     •
Do not use tobacco or other drugs yourself.

How you drink can influence your kids
Do as I say, not as I do isn't the way to educate young people about the dangers of drinking, experts say, but a survey finds that's an all-too-common mistake by parents.

Parents gripe that their jobs are made harder by Lindsay Lohan and other young celebrities who seem to glamorize alcohol abuse and bad behavior.

But it turns out that parents' own behavior often sends the wrong message to children, according to the results of a new poll.
